EBIRD Logistics successfully completed the first autonomous long-range drone flight in alpine terrain in Switzerland. During a public demonstration in the Canton of Uri, the drone transported a test payload along a pre-programmed route from Amsteg to Bristen without requiring visual contact from the pilot. The project showcases the potential of autonomous drones for logistics, infrastructure inspections, research, and operations in remote mountain regions. The test flight also highlights Uri’s ambition to become a leading hub for drone innovation through the newly established Alpine Drone Consortium.
