EBIRD Logistics AG receives SORA approval for drone operations

Kloten, Zurich-Airport / Switzerland, 03 October 2025 – EBIRD Logistics AG, a Swiss based drone operator and services provider, has been awarded the SORA approval which authorizes the company to carry out BVLOS drone flights.

This is a major milestone for commercial Swiss Drone Operations. EBIRD Logistics will fly under Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) rules, offering small packages delivery and powerline inspection services. First flights will be in the canton Uri, a mountainous alpine region in Central Switzerland. With this major achievement for advanced drone missions in the category above 25 kg MTOW, EBIRD Logistics AG is one of the first Swiss drone operators holding such a BVLOS license. The services include: Power line and mast inspections s using EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) cameras, LiDARs (Light Detection and Ranging), and corona cams – Transport of goods to remote alpine communities, huts and farms – Infrastructure maintenance support in difficult-to-access terrain.
